Registered Nurse | Qualified Theatre

A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse Qualified (Theatre) , based at Life Bedford Gardens Hospital , reporting to the Unit Manager Theatre, Bongiwe Ngcongo . The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the surgical team to perform surgical procedures on patients successfully and to ensure that the patient receives optimal care in accordance with company and hospital strategic objectives.

Critical Outputs

• Ensuring effective financial management by managing theatre clocking time, charging consignment stock, equipment, and prostheses according to policy, and participating in stock control.
• Affecting theatre equipment and instrumentation functioning by educating and supervising staff on correct utilization.
• Providing quality patient care by obtaining pre-operative information, visiting post-operative patients, ensuring patient comfort, and assisting the doctor during surgery.
• Managing people effectively by providing theatre-specific training, assessing staff competence, monitoring working hours, ensuring scope of practice adherence, and giving performance feedback.
• Managing SHEQ by ensuring PPE use, ISO compliance, and proper medical waste disposal.
• Maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders through meetings, reporting, and escalation of unresolved issues.
