HSE Officer

The HSE officer will be responsible for daily monitoring, reporting and awareness of health, safety & environment tasks in the plant.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Administer and coordinate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs across all operational areas.

Roll out and facilitate HSE initiatives, including safety inductions and technical guidance, to enhance awareness and proactively identify and mitigate risks on-site.

Conduct safety and health training for employees and supervisors to embed a culture that prioritizes HSE, aiming to reduce risks and associated costs.

Prepare and submit regular reports, updates, and incident data to the Senior HSE Officer and HSE Manager SSA.

Participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Conduct routine safety inspections to detect unsafe conditions or practices, with follow-up reports and corrective action plans.

Review and update job-specific risk assessments (routine and non-routine), ensuring effective implementation of control measures.

Monitor contractor compliance with HSE contractual obligations, including supervision, safety awareness, and documented risk controls.

Evaluate fire risks across all plant areas, recommending appropriate fire protection systems, manual extinguishers, and firewater networks based on hazard types and coverage needs.

Ensure ongoing functionality and accessibility of firefighting equipment through routine inspections and maintenance follow-ups.

Maintain and communicate the plant's emergency response plan, ensuring readiness through regular training and drills for emergency response teams.

Legislation, Regulation, and Guidelines.

Good command of English Language.

Competent in Microsoft Office.

Good communication skills, ability to lead others and train others in a teamwork effort.

Able to take decisions and act as a role model regarding HSE.
