Purpose of the Position
- The purpose of this role is to design user-centred interaction solutions that address both user needs and business objectives. This involves creating interaction models that improve usability, accessibility, and overall enjoyment, ensuring that digital applications function as intended. It also includes developing near-real functional prototypes to explore and validate interactions, and continuously testing, measuring, and refining digital products to elevate the user experience.
Key Performance Objectives
User Research & Analysis
Research market, users, and competitors, conduct analysis, collaborate with key stakeholders and run workshops to understand challenges.Base interaction solutions on data / evidence, catering for business and user need.Conduct heuristic evaluations on Streaming Tech interfaces to :Find interaction problems in the user interface (UI) design.Identify areas for interaction improvement.Conduct tests with users to measure the quality of interaction design across platforms.Conduct tests at scale to determine effectiveness of interaction designs using UX metric data analysis.Keep abreast of latest interaction design trends and propose these into design thinking and solutions.Interaction Design
Design UX interaction solutions for Mobile, Web and Lean Back products and services, using User Centered Design techniques.Design interaction models for Web, Lean Back and Mobile experiences.Improve the usability, accessibility, and pleasure provided in the interaction between the user and the product.Design fine interactions for user interfaces.Define how interactions happen and unfold, including : loading, transitions, animations, states, moments, timing, interface affordance, input methods and commands, accessibility.Support and enforce the implementation of a thorough design process.Produce task flows and wireframes and map user stories and scenarios to user journeys.Engineer prototypes that allow for the interrogation of near real flow, interaction, and fine interaction as well as for usability testing.Stakeholder Management
Work closely with UX and UI Designers, Product Managers, Developers, Researchers, gathering functional and user requirements, and aligning on project goals and interaction design direction.Regularly present interaction design work to stakeholders and clearly articulate rationale and user insights.Facilitate design reviews and feedback sessions.Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to communicate and refine user interface interactions.Participate in team activities and team planning with the aim of improving team skills, awareness, and quality of work.Manage stakeholder expectations by aligning on feasibility within timelines and technical constraints. Collaborate to prioritise features, refine scope, and maintain clear, ongoing communication on progress.Conflict resolution - Navigate differing opinions and resolve conflicts constructively. Help stakeholders reach consensus on user experience and interaction trade-offs.Work with designers, design seniors, researchers, product managers and developers to ensure visual and interaction design continuity across products.Actively work on improving user interaction experience and engagement across all our sites and products.Evangelise good user experience, demonstrating measurable value to other team-members and stakeholders, and encouraging a culture of good UX and interaction.Work on multiple projects at one time, using strong communication skills to manage time and expectations appropriately.Consult with various teams and projects to ensure consistent standard of interaction is maintained across our platforms.Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Digital Design, Information TechnologyExperience
A solid grounding in designing experiences for digital interfaces with proven track record. Experience designing for TV and VOD is beneficial.Experience creating Interaction Design, UX design and visual design solutions.Expert understanding of UX design principles and design best practice methods.Experience in applying User Centered Design to solve complex problems.Experienced knowledge of UX concepts that inform decision making.Understanding of a wide array of testing techniques, including direct user testing, focus groups, card-sorting, tree-testing, etc.Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into effective interaction design solutions that align with technical constraints.Experience in presenting and articulating Interaction Design solutions to peers, executives, and customers.Experience in prototyping using tools such as ProtoPie, Figma, etc.Experience creating detailed UX / Interaction specifications and presentations.Experience working within design teams.Experience working with Agile processesReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at MultiChoice Group by 2x
