PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Provides field engineering leadership, assist and support to project & warranty team for investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of technical / quality issues.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Effective performance of Troubleshooting, repairs, Field modifications and testing activities
Support any technical activity on Alstom products during warranty period as well as commissioning, warranty (and validation & certification phase if applicable)Diagnoses cause of malfunction / failure of operational equipment and recommends preventative and corrective actionsDefine troubleshooting methodologyProvides technical guidance and supports technicians in troubleshooting and repairsProvides feedback on technical documentation deficiencies.Advises Warranty management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product enhancementsDrive Kx (8D) issues with Quality and internal & external Suppliers as support of PrPIMEnsure completeness and quality of input to Failure Management data base for RAMS exploitationDrive Reliability Growth through failure / event investigation and reliability forecast implementation (with RAMS support).Drive and support containment to avoid reoccurrence of failuresSupports as-maintained Alstom product configuration control and relevant documentation managementSupport technical reviews with internal and external Suppliers, partners, customers, authoritiesEnsure & facilitate information flow within the warranty customer site, warranty functions and project teams. Provides status and transparence on warranty activities, key technical issues, to PrPIM.Apply EHS requirements on site with the support of EHS team representativesDrive technical Return of Experience / reporting / feedback as support of PrPIMSupport Obsolescence Management (if applicable)Support preparation and implementation of Field Modifications (FM)Compliance and adherence to Environment, Health, Safety and Quality rules, procedures and policies at all times.
Ensure that all quality standards are always metFollow depot / site procedures and instructions, both from the Company and from the customerEnsure that quality standards of components are metImplement 8D Practices and PPS Practices as and when requiredEnsure Zero outstanding NCR’sLocomotive Configuration – Ensure serialized numbers are logged in MAXIMO / GSII-Forms – Attend to I-Forms; Raise product related Issues; Report Incidents and Complete ActionsComply with all safety related training and ensure up to date certifications as required i.e. working at heightsReport any and all safety concerns as per Company procedureCollaborate with EHS and Quality teams to ensure we put safety first and maintain first class qualityAccurate and up to date Reporting and Data management
Initiate update, and close work orders on GSIEnsure that test documentation are filled out and placed in data fileEnsure that accurate reporting of work performed are done on GSI.Ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting after testing activitiesEnsure that routine testing and type testing documents are completedEnsure comprehensive and accurate failure reporting are doneEnsure proper record keepingSupport the Commissioning Engineer with reporting where requiredModel the AIR values of the Company and always act ethically and compliant

B.Eng / Bsc / Degree (Electrical Engineering)Minimum 5 years Rolling Stock (Locomotive / train) experienceRailway safety & RAMS experience will be advantageousEnvironment, Health and Safety knowledge / exposureHands on Testing / Commissioning, fault finding & repair experienceProficient in reading schematics and technical drawingsData analyticsExperience in analytical fault reporting and report writingAdvance understanding of technical drawings and schematicsTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES
