Summary of the position

The Manager – Security Valuations is responsible for ensuring that all security classes are accurately valued, thereby enabling the accurate valuation of client portfolios. Specifically, Apex is looking for a valuations expert to lead and manage the Security Valuations team.

Apex is seeking an individual with proven industry experience in either asset management or fund administration, with specific security valuations experience being an absolute must.

Outline of main duties and responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the role will be :

• Monitoring of service delivery by the teams in terms of SLA and managing clients’ expectations regarding deliverables, including projects and new client / fund onboarding
• Monitoring and resolving issues that have been identified
• Management of the team responsible for service delivery of the various functions
• Providing mentorship and motivation to staff and ensuring that appropriate knowledge sharing and skills training are provided
• Aligning the teams’ strategies and KPIs to that of the broader Apex strategy
• Risk Management :

Managing risk in the teams’ activities by reviewing processes and ensuring that adequate controls are in place at all times

Building and maintaining strong working relationships with external and internal clients

Assessing opportunities for efficiencies and reduced overhead in existing processes, including new technologies and vendors
