Introduction
We're seeking an experienced Sustainability Officer - 6-month contract - Sandton (Gauteng).The role's purpose is to build long-term sustainable relations with host communities, Co-design, implement, and monitor the impact of SED / ED programmes, and ensure that projects are sensitive to communities' specificities.MUST HAVE The qualifying Technologies for the REIPPPP include :Onshore wind, Solar PV, Solar thermal, Biomass solid, Biogas, Landfill gas or Small hydro plantsDuties & Responsibilities
Stakeholder Relations ManagementResponsible relations with the Project Support Committee (PSC)Responsible for Stakeholder Engagement Strategy and PlanEnsure that community stakeholder groups are informed of all decisions and activities undertaken.Spearheading the processes of asset mapping and community needs analysis, programProject ManagementEnsure co-design of projects with locals, implementation and monitoring performance, identifying all project riskMonitor the performance of all activities in terms of scheduleIdentify and manage all project risks.Compile board packs for sitesResponsible for Department of Energy obligations regarding quarterly SED and ED spend for all assetsBudget ManagementEnsure that quarterly spend targets are met (and create and implement strategies to avoid related risks).Event OrganisationIn partnership with PSC and SRM organise community meetings and events to introduce, report on and celebrate project progress.Partnerships & CollaborationConstantly identify partners to collaborate with on various tasks.Participation and representation in the renewable industry associationsCollaborate with other IPP’s where EGP is presentRequired Skills / Knowledge
Minimum Bachelor Degree5+ Years’ Experience in : Project management / management consulting / community developmentThe qualifying Technologies for the REIPPPP include :Onshore wind, Solar PV, Solar thermal, Biomass solid, Biogas, Landfill gas and Small hydro plantsDrive positive Social ChangeShare ownership of approved energyFacilitate private sector investment in grid-connected renewable energyThe qualifying Technologies for the REIPPPP include :Onshore wind, Solar PV, Solar thermal, Biomass solid, Biogas, Landfill gas and Small hydro plantsAdministrative / Management jobs
