Key Performance Areas :
Technical training support provided to the business unit or site
Define training needs through line discussions or gap analysisIdentification of skills and performance gapsReview of existing training processes, material and assessments availableDevelop solutions to close the gapIdentify suitable partners to assist in closing gapsEnsure support staff and key stakeholders are adequately trained to assess / coach / develop staff and / or materialMonitor and assess training and assessment plans and roll outManage or escalate challenges that may arise and ensure issues are addressedSkills capability developed on-site (for Operators, Senior Operators and Artisans)
Identify training needs or gapsMonitor nomination forms and conduct on-the-job training.Arrange classroom training where requiredAnswer questions and help resolve issues that ariseArrange training with the OEMs where requiredExecution of training strategy and associated action plans to address training / competence development needs
Identify training needs or respond to request from employee or manager, site Human Resources, Operations Executive or Manufacturing ManagerEstablish short, medium and long term training requirements for site aligned to business goals and strategyConduct research to provide suitable solutionsPlanning, training and assessment of operational training using Standard Operating Procedures / Working Instructions (SOPs / WIs) and assessment tools.
Maintenance of operational skills matrix and assessment recordsDevelop and reviewing existing SOPs / WI’s and amending where necessaryDraw up operational training schedule or planDevelop assessment toolsConduct operational training and assessmentManage and report on-the-job training recordsManage the implementation of planned job observationsCaptures operational training and assessment recordsEnsure site compliance to training standards, including the development of training and assessment tools by :
Scoping and mapping the production lines to determine required competenciesAssessing Senior Operators, Supervisors, Engineering Technical staff and Operators against required competencies, set on the skills matrixMinimum Requirements :
Experience :
The successful incumbent will be required to have a minimum of 3 years working experience in the following :
Learning and developmentFMCG and / or manufacturingAssessor / Moderator experienceQualifications : Essential :
Professional registration with SETA as an Assessor and TrainerNational Diploma / BTech / BSc in Engineering Studies (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Instrumentation or Chemical)Advantageous :
Professional registration with SETA as a ModeratorNQF 5 - National Certificate in Occupationally-Directed Education, Training and Development Practices (OD-EDTP)Registered as a Skills Development Facilitator would be idealNational Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB) Assessor and / or Trade Test Official ModeratorAdditional Requirements :
Understanding of and ability to develop skills matrices and learning toolsUnderstanding principles of out-come Based education, facilitation, assessment and moderation of assessments in the workplace.Knowledge of best practice in terms of work instructions and SOP developmentProject management would be advantageousProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPointEngineering / Technical jobs
