Job Description : JOB SUMMARY

The Surgical Technologist is a skilled member of the allied healthcare team who provides clinical support and / or operating room assistance under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Surgical Technologist works with a wide variety of healthcare professionals to deliver direct patient care before, during, and after procedures or surgery. The Surgical Technologist provides a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient and staff by working in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) standards of practice and by adhering to MCHS policies / procedures, universal precautions, and sterile technique.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required : Graduate of a surgical technologist program or military equivalent.

Preferred / Optional : None

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required : None

Preferred / Optional :

• Two years’ of healthcare experience.
• One year experience as Surgical Technologist.

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required :

Any Surgical Technologists joining MCHS through acquisition are not required to be certified, but must acquire continuing education credits equal to the requirements to maintain certification.

Preferred / Optional :

Casual 0.2 position Mon-Fri 8 hour day shift, planned late call to finish scheduled surgeries.

Positions listed as 30 hours per week or greater are offered the level 1 benefit package.

Positions listed as 20 – 29 hours per week are offered the level 2 benefit package.

Positions listed as less than 19 hours per week are non-benefited.
