The Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations & Transitions independently manages all employee exits for Remote's external employees with a focus on legal compliance, quality, and delightful customer service. The specialist provides first-level Employee Relations support, guiding clients through workplace concerns and coordinating resources. You will drive process improvements aligned with Remote's strategic goals and values.
Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions, prioritizing a superior offboarding experience for Remote's clients and employees.
- Provide guidance with knowledge of key jurisdictions and manage client requests on HR matters including termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy, ensuring legal compliance and best practices.
- Lead and facilitate meetings with clients and external employees, including workforce reduction consultation meetings, administrative hearings, negotiations in separations and settlements, and delivering termination outcomes.
- Influence and negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations, coordinating multiple stakeholders with competing interests through lengthy processes.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits (payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, trade unions).
- Draft, tailor and administer termination and supplementary documents with accuracy, maintaining employee records with privacy and confidentiality.
- Process offboarding on Remote's HRIS, collaborating with teams such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance to ensure timely execution.
- Act as a first-line escalation point, mentoring junior team members and providing guidance on Remote's Employee Relations resources.
- Provide comprehensive guidance on Remote's Employee Relations resources to help clients navigate workplace scenarios.
- Conduct preliminary assessments of workplace concerns, identifying facts, applicable local regulations, and potential paths forward.
- Serve as a trusted resource on employee relations matters, ensuring appropriate handling of complex cases.
- Guide clients in progressive disciplinary approaches, documentation requirements, and best practices for handling difficult situations.
- Track and monitor ongoing employee relations cases with timely follow-up and coordination with stakeholders.
- Be the subject-matter expert and proactively resolve internal and external queries on offboarding and first-level employee relations matters.
- Identify opportunities to drive process improvements, automation, product development and overall customer and employee experience through offboarding and employee relations processes.
- Determine methods, procedures and standards on new assignments; exercise judgment in selecting methods and evaluating results, considering broader Lifecycle and Remote needs.
Qualifications
Extensive experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with generalist HR competencies across the employee lifecycle.Tertiary qualifications in HR / labour relations / employment law are a plus.Proven experience independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity and legal compliance across various jurisdictions, and providing comprehensive HR advice.Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline approaches, and workplace investigation fundamentals.Ability to interpret industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, and translate findings into usable resources; capable of communicating recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous environments.Strong communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills; ability to lead difficult conversations with professionalism and confidentiality.Business-level English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.Aptitude to innovate and optimize processes, including automation and best practices.Efficiency in operations with emphasis on thorough record-keeping and data integrity.Tech-savvy; able to collaborate asynchronously and adapt to new systems.Ability to work autonomously and in an international, fast-paced remote team; comfortable with flexible hours and competing priorities.Proactive, self-motivated with ownership and accountability; able to inspire others.Practicals

Remote's total rewards philosophy ensures fair compensation and benefits in all locations in which we operate. The base salary range for this full-time role is USD 41,900–94,300. Our geo ranges reflect geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy.
