The Warehouse Inventory Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate stock levels, coordinating inventory control activities, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. The role involves close collaboration with warehouse, finance, and operations teams to ensure product availability, accuracy, and compliance with company procedures.
Responsibilities
- Inventory Management
- Monitor and control stock levels to ensure sufficient inventory for operational needs.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records on relevant systems.
- Identify, record, and report damaged, expired, or obsolete stock.
- Manage stock adjustments, transfers, and reconciliations.
Warehouse Operations
Oversee receiving, offloading, and dispatch of stock.Supervise picking teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to procedures.Ensure warehouse areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.Oversee labeling, tagging, boxing, and proper storage of all inventory.Support the Warehouse Manager in planning daily operations and prioritizing workflow.Perform any additional duties related to warehouse operations as required by management.Coordination & Communication
Liaise with warehouse staff, sales, and finance departments on stock availability, movements, and replenishment.Relay clear instructions and updates to warehouse and picking teams.Assist in resolving customer or internal stock-related issues promptly.Communicate effectively in both Afrikaans and English (verbal and written).Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management.Track stock variances and provide recommendations for process improvement.Assist in audits and stock reconciliations when required.Education
A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field will be advantageous.Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in inventory control or warehouse management, preferably within logistics or distribution.Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Datatim or similar systems advantageous.Sound communication skills in Afrikaans and English.Ability to supervise and motivate warehouse staff effectively.Other Requirements
