Chief Financial Officer

This role will be based in Benin or South Africa.

TRT Industries specializes in developing and growing businesses across manufacturing, sales, distribution, technology solutions, and property, all aimed at improving lives across Africa. The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership for TRT Manufacturing (TRTM) teams in South Africa, Benin, and other African regions. This role will align financial strategies with company growth objectives, ensuring top-tier financial governance, operational efficiency, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Financial Leadership

Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with TRT Manufacturing’s vision and growth objectives.Provide insights to guide executive decision-making and long-term business growth.Lead initiatives to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.Ensure financial models reflect market trends and manufacturing conditions.Monitor key financial KPIs to assess TRTM’s performance and growth potential.Manage budgets and P&L to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.

Operational & Risk Management

Drive cost efficiency and manage risk initiatives across operations.Establish internal controls to comply with financial standards and regulations.Manage cash flow and treasury operations to optimize liquidity and working capital.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across all operations.Collaborate with auditors and authorities to ensure tax law compliance.Standardize financial reporting systems across TRTM operations.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team across multiple countries.Oversee talent acquisition, development, and succession planning.Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the finance function.

Stakeholder Engagement

Advise the General Manager, Board of Directors, and EXCO on financial matters.Engage with investors, banks, and regulators to maintain confidence and transparency.Collaborate with leadership to support operational goals and market expansion.

Personal Specification

• Education : Bachelor’s in Finance / Accounting (Master’s or professional certification like CA, CPA, CIMA preferred).
• Experience : 10+ years in financial leadership, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG, with multi-country experience across Africa.
• Skills : Expertise in financial planning, risk management, and regulatory compliance.Strong leadership, team management, and strategic thinking.Proficiency in financial systems, ERP platforms, and data analytics tools.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.Ability to adapt in fast-paced environments and make pragmatic decisions.Strong business acumen and results-oriented.Contract negotiation and property law knowledge are a plus.
