Our client is seeking a Technical Equipment Controller responsible for managing equipment stock, preparing items for installation, and overseeing repairs and refurbishments. This role suits a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with technical knowledge and strong organisational skills.
Location : Pinetown.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of the equipment (and components) stock to install equipment on-site.
- Receive Picking Sheets provided by the Reps / Technicians for equipment.
- Verify equipment against customer order and requirements.
- Pick stock, mark against the Picking Sheet, and update the manual stock control sheet.
- Prepare equipment, including wiring for pumps, to enable installation on-site by the technician.
- Verify and complete orders before documents are handed to the Sales Administrator for invoicing and goods delivered to the Installation Technician / Sales Rep for delivery to customer.
- Receive stock from third party suppliers and check each product against the Supplier Invoice.
- Ensure quality and quantity of equipment / stock; notify the Buyer of defects or delivery errors.
- Pack received equipment on the designated shelf and manage stock using First In, First Out principles.
- Monitor stock levels and advise when products are running low to enable timely reordering.
- Liaise with the Buyer and reps to understand equipment and component requirements and provide technical input where necessary.
- Provide support and technical mentorship to installation technicians.
- Receive and assemble components to create finished products for sale (e.g., Handwash alarm).
- Receive returned equipment, assess whether it can be refurbished or disposed of, and keep accurate records of returns.
- Conduct repairs and refurbishments (electrical / pumps) and maintain accurate records of all repairs, swaps, and stock updates.
- Receive faulty equipment for assessment and repair prior to return to customer.
- Maintain ongoing safety, housekeeping, and compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Perform stock takes quarterly or as required.
- Safeguard company assets, including vehicles and tools; monitor and report any issues for rectification.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12.Driver’s License.National Certificate in Electrical Engineering : NQF Level 3Safety requirements in storage and handling chemicalsExperience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is highly advantageous.Proficiency in ERP system, Syspro advantageous (receipting of goods).Intermediary knowledge in MS Office packages (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook).Personal Attributes
Ensure accurate recordkeeping and documentation.Responsible for accuracy of Equipment Maintenance Book and associated administration.Prepare and submit Picking Sheets, Supplier Invoices, etc., in the agreed format, on time.Ensure compliance with standard operating policies and procedures (including quality controls).Communicate proficiently, verbally and in writing, in official business language – English.Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policy & procedures.Wear required PPE in designated areas.Operate all machinery in full accordance with instructions and safety precautions.Immediately report any non-compliance via the Health & Safety Officers.#J-18808-Ljbffr
