Portfolio Manager - Equilibrium DFM (Centurion)
Role Purpose
Equilibrium Discretionary Fund Manager is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Client Portfolio Manager. The incumbent will play a dual role, combining business development with technical expertise. This role supports the Head of Equilibrium Distribution by taking out the Equilibrium message and building relationships with distribution channels and financial advisers. The role's primary focus will be implementing Equilibrium's sales and growth strategy, client investment consulting and client relationship management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in finance, Investments, Economics or related field.
- CFP, CFA Level 1 or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience
Minimum 5 years\' experience in Investment Management, Investment Business Development or related field.Experience in investment consulting or a related field.Strong understanding of investment products and portfolio management.Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development (70% of KPI\'s)
Drive and deliver on the Equilibrium\'s purpose and strategy.Support the Head of Distribution to deliver on sales targets, including client meetings, presentations, and follow-ups throughout South Africa.Bolster support for the DFM and Investment Consulting value proposition across various LISP platforms.Enable sales channels with the required knowledge and skills to position our capability.Build the profile of Equilibrium in the market using traditional and disruptive processes.Implement the distribution strategy to increase net flows into Equilibrium.Actively disseminate the company\'s message, fostering connections with distribution channels and financial advisers, and contribute to the implementation of the business\'s sales and growth strategy.Enhance support for financial advisers by developing solution-oriented content, analysing data to reinforce investment messages, and facilitating their transition into portfolios.Generate new and imaginative solutions in the workplace to address business problems with unique techniques.Identify opportunities to grow the business, focusing on increasing the transition rate into model portfolios and funds of funds.In partnership with Marketing, arrange events and campaigns to grow the Equilibrium brand and assets.Represent Equilibrium at conferences, panels, asset management and industry events.Analyse and identify trends, using insights to facilitate asset transitions into Equilibrium solutions.Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Equilibrium\'s client base.Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and the competitive landscape.Prepare and present proposals to potential clients, showcasing Equilibrium\'s value proposition.Support portfolio managers and enhance client relationships.Travel as needed to meet with clients and attend regional meetings.Provide authoritative guidance to clients and stakeholders.Contribute to negotiating objectives and realistic service level agreements, monitor appropriateness and recommend adjustments.Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Engage with key internal stakeholders to identify changing client needs and align service offering accordingly.Manage a client service excellence culture to build enduring relationships and deliver exceptional client service.Ensure delivery of agreed deliverables and SLAs to meet client expectations.Junior Portfolio Management related responsibilities (30% of KPI\'s)
Client Report Backs : prepare and deliver regular performance reports to clients with transparent discussion of portfolio performance and investment strategies.Portfolio Construction Support : assist in development and management of investment portfolios aligned with clients\' objectives and risk profiles.Research and Analysis : conduct market research and analysis on investment opportunities and provide insights.Administrative Support : provide administrative support to the senior portfolio management team as needed.Support the portfolio managers with additional reporting tasks for mid to smaller clients.Prepare investment reports and presentations.Stay updated on market trends to provide informed recommendations.Monitor and analyse portfolio performance, offering insights and improvement recommendations.Support implementation of investment strategies and portfolio rebalancing.Effectively manage self and collaboration (People)
