Job Description

  • Identify, target, and acquire new corporate clients with trade finance needs.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase trade finance volumes and market share.
  • Build a strong pipeline of trade finance opportunities across key sectors.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key corporate clients, financial institutions, and trading houses.
  • Understand client trade cycles to provide tailored financial solutions.
  • Advise clients on trade finance products including letters of credit, bank guarantees, documentary collections, Open trade payments etc.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (credit, operations, risk, compliance) to ensure seamless deal execution.
  • Liaise with Group global trade finance desks (FIS) to tap into cross-border opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in trade finance in a bank in South Africa, with a focus on business development and a progressive track record.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade practices, UCP 600, Incoterms, and local regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate, structure, and close trade finance deals.
  • Requirements

    Strong sales and negotiation skills with a client-centric approach. Deep understanding of trade finance instruments and working capital solutions. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. High level of initiative, drive, and professionalism. Ability to work under pressure and achieve given targets.
