Security Manager

Job descriptionSecurity Strategy & Policies Develop, implement, and enforce internal security policies and procedures. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies. Physical Security Oversee access control, CCTV systems, alarms, and perimeter security. Ensure proper visitor management and employee ID / access badge protocols. Information & Data Security (in collaboration with IT) Support data protection initiatives and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, POPIA). Monitor for security breaches or suspicious activities. Incident Response & Investigations Lead investigations of security incidents, breaches, or thefts. Report and document incidents with corrective action plans. Compliance & Training Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Conduct employee training and awareness programs on security practices. Liaison & Coordination Coordinate with law enforcement, regulators, and external security providers when required. Collaborate with HR, IT, and Facilities on integrated security measures
Minimum Requirements
- Immediately available to work on contract ie not currently working
- Qualification in Security Management, Criminology, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in security management (corporate, industrial, or government).
- Strong knowledge of physical and information security best practices.
- Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence across departments.
- Familiarity with relevant compliance standards and regulations.
