Job Description
To proactively originate and structure Real Estate Finance (REF) solutions for core and franchise building real estate clients in collaboration with Client Coverage, Regional Heads and Sub‑Segment Leads / Heads by providing end to end execution oversight, coordination and coaching to drive the delivery of holistic Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) client solutions.
Essential Functions
- Drive origination of REF solutions and multi‑product CIB deals with C‑Suite, board-level decision makers and key management teams in partnership with Client Coverage, Regional Heads and Sub‑Segment Leads / Heads to deliver client‑centric solutions that improve the overall client experience.
- Contribute and shape the development of client plans and strategies by providing REF perspectives and insights to shape the strategic thinking and enhance the client portfolio through a holistic approach that directly impacts the outcome of the Product Risk Management Committee (PRMC) discussions and enhancements.
- Drive focus on Standard Bank Group franchise enhancing opportunities (balancing mandate viability, deal feasibility and the probability of deal closure) to select and secure deals that result in CIB revenue and asset growth.
- In collaboration with Regional Head, Sub‑Regional and Sub‑Segment Leads / Heads manage, oversee and approve the lending solution pitchbook planning and approve the final version of proposals, pitch books and other origination content, adding expert opinion and refining recommendations for use in client engagements.
- Originate, develop, lead and structure solutions that align with the lending business’s global strategy by identifying and driving strategic objectives for the REF portfolio, to optimise client and / or shareholder returns, grow CIB revenue and lending market share.
- Oversee and monitor the implementation of applicable policies, systems, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant CIB risk, regulatory and business control requirements.
Qualifications
Post Graduate Degree in Finance and Accounting.8‑10 years advanced experience in originating and executing REF / lending solutions.8‑10 years seasoned experience in acting as a trusted advisor to C‑suite management and Boards of clients, through the rendering of REF / lending insights and solutions. Advanced experience within the property sector preferred.8‑10 years’ experience in leading technical deal teams, with demonstrated experience in the development and coaching of junior team members.8‑10 years in‑depth knowledge and experience of risk management practices and regulatory frameworks within CIB environment.8‑10 years seasoned experience in credit management and complex lending within CIB environment.Technical Competencies
