Financial Manager Hospitality & Winery Sector (Winelands-Based)
Location : Winelands / Far Northern Suburbs (Candidates must live in the area)
Our client, a leading luxury hospitality and winery business, is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to take ownership of the full financial management function. This pivotal role ensures robust financial reporting, cost control, budgeting, compliance, and strategic financial leadership across all areas of the operation.

Key Responsibilities will include :
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and service excellence.
- Set clear goals, coach for growth, and drive continuous improvement.
- Build financial awareness across departments, providing guidance to non-financial managers.
Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee the full accounting function, including month-end, management accounts, and intercompany transactions.Manage and develop financial systems aligned to business and reporting needs.Drive profitability through cost structure analysis and margin optimization.Deliver timely and accurate monthly reporting, including departmental P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.Present financial insights, forecasts, and variance analysis to senior leadership.Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, collaborating with heads of department.Analyze variances between budgets, actuals, and forecasts, identifying growth and savings opportunities.Operational Finance & Controls
Implement and monitor internal controls across all departments, including stock and cash management.Manage cash flow and capital expenditure schedules.Ensure accurate stock reporting and system integrations between POS and Property Management Systems.Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and ensure accurate Capex tracking.Compliance & Auditing
Oversee internal and external audits to ensure best practice compliance.Ensure adherence to VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and statutory obligations.Maintain audit readiness and statutory reporting compliance in line with IFRS and group standards.Qualifications & Experience
BCom Accounting or equivalent degree.Completed SAICA articles.Minimum 5 years post-article experience in financial management or senior accounting.Experience in hospitality, winery, or similar sectors advantageous.Working knowledge of restaurant POS and Property Management Systems preferred.Proficient in Sage X3.Please note : Due to the operational requirements of this role, candidates must reside in the Winelands or surrounding far Northern Suburbs to be considered.
