Summary of the position

The Specialist is a regulatory specialist in the Investment Compliance Support Services (ICSS) team, reporting to the Senior Manager and based in the Cape Town office. The role provides regulatory and compliance monitoring support for investment managers, creating and maintaining compliance rules on the NX Manager platform, and delivering monthly regulatory holdings and compliance reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily post‑trade compliance reports and monthly reporting for Regulation 28 and Regulation 30.
• Conduct monthly pre‑reporting checks to ensure accurate instrument and issuer classifications.
• Troubleshoot classification issues and clean static data to support monitoring and reporting integrity.
• Interpret and document legislative, regulatory and mandate compliance requirements for integration into NX Manager and the Compliance Reporting Warehouse.
• Test all changes, develop, code and implement compliance rules, and review rule integrity continually.
• Provide support to the Apex client base on compliance related queries, including interpretation, breaches and reporting.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and contribute to business development and the expansion of the ICSS function.
• Adhere to Apex core values, risk‑awareness, and compliance standards.

Reporting Structure

The Specialist reports to the Senior Manager of Investment Compliance Support Services, based in the Cape Town office.

Location

Marketborough (Cape Town Office); hybrid / remote arrangements may be discussed.

Compensation

Salary range ZAR 450 000 – ZAR 600 000, commensurate with experience.
