Position Summary
The Head of Training will lead and manage TTN’s training initiatives to ensure that our Fellows become highly effective educators and transformative leaders. This role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating leadership and teaching development programs, working closely with a team of Leadership Development Coaches, and cultivating strategic partnerships to support TTN’s mission. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic vision, leadership, and expertise in adult learning to deliver high-quality training aligned with our organizational values and goals.Leadership and Team ManagementLead, mentor, and manage a team of Leadership Development Coaches who directly support Fellows throughout their fellowship.Conduct regular team meetings, learning circles, and individual coaching sessions to ensure high performance and alignment with TTN’s mission.Foster a collaborative team culture focused on continuous learning, service, and achieving ambitious goals in high-need communities.Program Design and Curriculum DevelopmentDevelop, refine, and implement a comprehensive leadership development curriculum aligned with TTN’s competencies and objectives.Training and Support ProgramsDesign and execute training programs, including a six-week hybrid residential Summer Institute for Fellows.Coordinate high-quality, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to foster ongoing support and learning among Fellows.Develop robust support systems for Fellows, ensuring a high level of engagement and motivation in challenging educational environments.Monitoring, Evaluation, and ReportingProvide regular reports to the Executive Director and senior leadership on program outcomes, challenges, and improvement strategies.Stakeholder and Partnership ManagementBuild and maintain relationships with educational partners, including training providers, NGOs, consultants, and government bodies.Requirements
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Training, Leadership Development, Psychology, or a related field.Experience : At least 4 years of experience in a strategic or managerial training role, preferably within education or non-profit sectors.Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital literacy, experience with curriculum design, training facilitation, and relationship management.Preferred Competencies
Expertise in Leadership Development : In-depth knowledge of leadership development practices and adult learning principles.Strategic Vision and Innovation : Ability to design and adapt training programs to meet organizational goals in a dynamic environment.Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills : Experience working in cross-cultural settings and building strong networks with stakeholders.Data Analysis Skills : Proficiency in monitoring, analyzing, and utilizing data to inform program improvements.Passion for Teach the Nation’s Mission : Alignment with TTN’s values and commitment to addressing educational inequity in South Africa.Human Resources jobs
