As a Cost Planner, you%E2%80%99ll play a key role in supporting the Senior Cost Planner with quantity surveying services, helping to forecast and manage construction costs across a portfolio of exciting new projects. From early feasibility studies to detailed cost planning, your work will directly influence strategic decisions during acquisition and design development phases.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within the cost planning team to prepare cost plans from initial feasibility to detailed budgets ready for project handover.
- Attend design team meetings and provide feedback to the Senior Cost Planner to ensure cost-effective design choices.
- Interpret project data and measure planned works to support accurate cost projections.
- Benchmark data from live projects to inform budget preparation.
- Liaise with sales teams to align specifications and budgets with market expectations.
- Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and translating them into actionable site documents and budgets.
- Help maintain a comprehensive database of the client\'s construction costs for ongoing financial appraisals.
- Support the preparation and submission of Part V applications to Local Authorities.
- Coordinate with PQS consultants to ensure BoQs reflect the latest project information.
- Participate in site visits and project meetings.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Minimum 2 years’ post-graduate experience with a PQS or developer.Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficient in Buildsoft-Cubit, Cost-ex (or equivalent), and Microsoft Office Suite.Detail-oriented with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.Self-motivated and capable of working independently and within a team.Willingness to learn, attend training, and grow professionally.Comfortable taking ownership of tasks and delivering results.Seniority level
