MAIN PURPOSE : To strategically manage the National Sales function to achieve organisational objectives and create and sustain a profitable environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Performance & Strategy
- Drive a high-performance, sales-focused culture across the organisation.
- Identify sales opportunities and weaknesses; develop and implement strategies for growth.
- Create and execute actionable sales plans to achieve or exceed national sales targets.Monitor sales trends and adjust strategies to capitalize on market dynamics.
- People & Performance Management
- Lead the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of high-performing team members.
- Manage employee performance through structured performance processes (PPPS).
- Implement effective succession planning to ensure leadership continuity.
- Drive training and development initiatives to enhance team capability.
- Promote and manage Employment Equity in line with company policies.
- Develop and execute strategies for employee retention and engagement.
- Oversee employee relations and ensure compliance with labour laws and internal policies.
- Client Relationship & Account Management
- Ensure strong, ongoing relationships with key clients, reflected through positive 360° feedback.
- Develop and implement tailored contact strategies and account-specific business plans.
- Align business plans with client needs and market trends.
- Maintain regular client engagement and foster strong relationships with store personnel.
- Proactively address client concerns and resolve issues efficiently.
- Follow structured call cycles and maximize in-person engagements wherever possible.
- Operational Excellence
- Implement and monitor execution of business strategy at a national level.
- Ensure service delivery levels meet agreed standards and KPIs.
- Execute successful campaigns and special projects aligned to sales goals.
- Ensure 100% compliance with callage vs call cycle metrics.
- Monitor and enforce in-store Point of Purchase (POP) standards.
- Analyse market trends and client development; share actionable insights with stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and effective call cycle planning and execution.
- Address exceptions or discrepancies by initiating corrective action.
- Align operations with labour regulations, principal agreements, and company policies.
- Oversee the communication and compliance of POP standards within the sales team.
- Financial Management
- Develop and manage the national sales expense budget.
- Monitor financial performance to ensure adherence to budget and ROI on sales initiatives.
Recruitment Profile
Educational Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or a related field is preferred.Experience
Minimum 5 years of general management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior operations or national sales leadership role.Core Competencies
