Azure Operations Specialist

Azure Operations Specialist We are growing and are now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Azure Operations Specialist to join our IT team based in Cape Town, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Azure SQL Servers, Virtual Machines (VMs), network architecture, and corporate IT infrastructure. Salary is negotiable based on skills, experience, and will consider contractor or employed position.

The position can be full remote, but you would be required on occasions to meet up with the team in our Cape Town office.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Azure SQL Servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
• Deploy, configure, and monitor Azure Virtual Machines to support business applications and workloads.
• Design and maintain Azure-based network architecture, including virtual networks, VPNs, and security groups.
• Oversee corporate IT infrastructure, including identity and access management (Azure AD), endpoint management, and cloud security.
• Implement best practices for monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability in Azure environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Azure infrastructure issues, collaborating with internal teams and vendors as needed.
• Assist in automation and scripting tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools.
• Stay up-to-date with Azure advancements and recommend improvements to enhance performance and security.
• Document system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
