System Engineer Iii

Overview

In this role, you'll take the lead in engineering and automating Capitec's hybrid cloud infrastructure. As a senior Systems Engineer, you will design, build, and support scalable and secure server and storage solutions—while driving automation initiatives across environments using Ansible, Terraform, and other tools. You'll play a key part in ensuring infrastructure is resilient, future-ready, and aligned with Capitec's digital transformation goals. You'll also be a technical mentor and role model to other engineers, helping shape how we do infrastructure through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and thought leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and automation of Capitec's hybrid cloud infrastructure
• Design, build, and support scalable server and storage solutions
• Drive automation initiatives across environments using Ansible, Terraform, and other tools
• Ensure infrastructure resilience, security, and alignment with digital transformation goals
• Mentor and role-model to other engineers; promote collaboration and knowledge sharing
• Provide escalation support for Level 2 and Level 1 engineers across multiple technologies
