Our client , a well-established firm of Attorneys, Notaries, and Conveyancers , is seeking a qualified and experienced Paralegal to join their professional team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a respected legal practice that handles conveyancing, notarial work, company law, and compliance matters.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a solid understanding of legal documentation, conveyancing procedures, and compliance requirements. You will play a key support role to the partners and attorneys, ensuring the smooth management of legal and administrative processes.
Position Overview
As the Paralegal, you will provide direct support to the firms partners and professional staff, assisting with a variety of legal, conveyancing, and compliance functions. Youll be responsible for maintaining accurate records, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and liaising with clients and authorities in a professional manner.
This position requires a strong sense of initiative, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English .
Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys and notaries with the preparation, review, and finalization of legal documents, agreements, and conveyancing paperwork.
Conduct legal and property-related research as required.
Manage FICA documentation and ensure all compliance procedures are up to date.
Coordinate correspondence, scheduling, and document submissions to clients, financial institutions, and the Deeds Office.
Draft and proofread legal documents, contracts, and property transfer forms.
Maintain and organize digital and physical filing systems in accordance with legal standards.
Liaise professionally with clients, service providers, and regulatory bodies.
Manage deadlines, track case progress, and provide timely updates to partners.
Support daily office operations and assist with ad-hoc legal and administrative tasks.
Minimum Requirements
Paralegal qualification (essential)
5 years experience in a legal firm, ideally within notarial, conveyancing, or company law environments
Strong understanding of conveyancing processes, property transfers, and compliance (FICA)
Working knowledge of company structures and company law
Excellent written and verbal communication in Afrikaans and English
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively
Professional, well-presented, and able to maintain discretion at all times
