Desktop Publishing Coordinator
CORE PURPOSE
To provide support and supervision to the Curriculum Development and Management Department by assisting with the formatting and digitising of the module guides and curriculum documentation and ensuring new and existing curriculum are at a ready state to ensure that MANCOSA meets its strategic objectives and goals.
CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE MANAGING THE FOLLOWING :
Formatting of all Module Guides and Curriculum Documents
- Perform all formatting and digitising on new and old Module Guides and Curriculum Department Documents as per the Department’s requirements
- Accurately complete tracking documentation and related statistics with regards to Module Guide readiness
- Develop forms, templates, and guides by working in collaboration with department members and stakeholders
- Schedule and coordinate meetings efficiently and professionally
- Allocate formatting of module guides to ensure module guide readiness before each intake
- Strategically plan formatting of module guides to ensure module guide readiness and adherence to print deadline before each intake
- Maintain presentation quality and consistency of Module Guides and Multimedia Guides
- Adhere to institutional deadlines for module guide readiness
Curriculum Development and Management System
Liaise with the service provider regarding system developments for the Curriculum Development and Management System (CDMS)Track Curriculum Development and Management System (CDMS) developments and enhancementsTrain staff members on the Curriculum Development and Management System (CDMS) functionalitiesPrinting of Module Guides
Compile a Module Guide printing list per intake as per institutional deliverablesCoordinate the printing process between the Curriculum Development and Management Department, Dispatch Department and the printing service providerTrack the checking and sign-off of Module Guides sent to the printersProfessional Development
Engage in ongoing professional development by independently studying to upgrade your knowledge within the 0field of expertiseActively participate in staff development initiatives offered by the institutionConduct staff development and training sessionsMANCOSA Student Success
Employ effective project and time management strategies to ensure that students receive module guides timeouslyRegulatory Bodies
Prepare for and ensure attendance at any site visits relating to the academic programmesActively participate in CHE Audit and site visits together with the other members of ManagementParticipate in any regulatory body activityEnsure compliance to regulatory standardsGeneral
Adhere to and loyally perform reasonable instructions, functions and tasksAssist and attend institution functions as and when requiredFulfil any other reasonable request from ManagementAssist with graduation as and when requiredQualifications and Experience
Minimum Degree in Information Technology or Business AdministrationAt least 1-2 year’s higher education work experience, higher education experience preferableExperience with engaging with the following software :
Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Muse, Animate / Flash, Dreamweaver)Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Visual StudioEclipseNetBeansJob related knowledge and skills
