Job descriptionCollect, clean, and analyse financial and commercial datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Design and implement data models that support financial forecasting and decision-making. Identify opportunities to streamline data collection and reporting processes. Support automation of business reporting and analytics processes. Develop and maintain dynamic, insightful dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik to present insights to stakeholders. Write and optimise SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases. Advantageous : Develop applications using PowerApps, ASP, Java, or other relevant technologies to enhance business processes. Apply design thinking methodologies to create customer and user-centric data solutions This entails possessing the knowledge base, to help teams recognise and identify what’s needed (required) to build and set up an efficient workflow process. Work closely with finance, operations, IT, and commercial teams to align data strategy with business objectives. Ensure accuracy and consistency of data through regular validation and quality checks Strong analytical ability to interpret complex financial and commercial data and provide actionable insights. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Matric – Grade 12 Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Data Science, Computer Science, or relevant experience. Certifications in data analysis, business intelligence, or financial analysis. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in finance or data analysis disciplines. Experience with PowerApps, ASP, Java, or similar application development tools is advantageous. Strong understanding of data modelling, database structures, and data warehousing. Experience in the logistics, financial services, or commodity trading industry. Exposure to cloud-based data solutions such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud or similar. Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation (Preferred). Advanced expertise in data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik, with the ability to build complex, interactive dashboards. Expert-level Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and automation techniques. Strong Python programming skills for data analysis, automation, and predictive modelling.
This vital role supports the strategic business plan, business data and reporting initiatives throughout C. Steinweg Bridge. This position has a specific focus on developing dashboards and reporting mechanisms, as well as coordinating systems and processes that engage and solicit data management and reporting analytics across the group.
