An established, privately owned group with diverse business interests across Southern Africa is looking for a hands-on Junior Accountant to join its Cape Town finance team. The company is led by a highly experienced CFO who values structure, learning, and mentorship. The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a young professional who has recently completed articles (SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA) and wants to gain exposure to full-function accounting, group reporting, and management support. You’ll work closely with the CFO, assisting with daily accounting, reconciliations, and management reports while learning how a finance function operates within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial group.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and reconcile daily transactions across multiple entities.
- Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Support management accounts preparation and variance analysis.
- Assist with VAT, PAYE, and other statutory submissions.
- Process supplier invoices, payments, and customer receipts.
- Help prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain accurate documentation and filing systems.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and administrative support to the CFO.

Completed or nearly completed SAIPA / CIMA accounting articles.BCom in Accounting, Finance, or similar qualification.1–3 years’ solid experience in accounting or audit environment.Strong Excel and accounting system skills (Sage, Xero, or Pastel advantageous).Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.A positive attitude and eagerness to learn in a professional yet entrepreneurial setup.Personal Attributes
