We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Financial Accountant to join our clients dynamic team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulations, and delivering insights that support strategic business decisions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing tax compliance, performing reconciliations, and assisting with budgets and forecasts. Our client is a cutting-edge subsidiary of a South African defence and aerospace group, established in 2019 in Cape Town. They specialise in the engineering, development, and integration of advanced unmanned aerial systems and related technologies.
Duties :
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage local payments
- Reconcile petty cash and balance sheet accounts to supporting schedules
- Manage debtors and creditors, including provisions and accruals
- Review creditors reconciliations and balances
- Process monthly journals (shareholders interest, provisions, tax, depreciation, etc.)
- Manage intergroup transactions and prepare records to trial balance
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, and reporting on actual performance
- Review fixed asset register and depreciation calculations
- Compile annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS for SMEs
- Ensure tax compliance (VAT, payroll taxes) and liaise with SARS
- Oversee cash management to ensure efficient supplier payments and operational support
