Our Client is a rapidly growing startup within the community of a well known Crypto Media Channel, dedicated to providing crypto education to a global audience. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head of Data to lead their data-driven initiatives and ensure the efficient operation of their verification processes with exchange partners. As the Head of Data, you will play a crucial role in shaping their data strategy, implementing systems, and collaborating with various teams to drive their success.

They are looking for a Head of Data to join their dynamic team in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy to make the company a data-driven organization
Design and implement the necessary systems, tools, and infrastructure to collect, store, analyze, and visualize data effectively
Collaborate with exchange partners as the main technical point of contact to automate the student verification process and ensure a seamless experience
Investigate and optimize the verification process to minimize potential points of failure and enhance efficiency
Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive decision-making and improve operational performance
Utilize statistical analysis and A / B testing methodologies to support data-driven decision-making across the organization
Work cross-functionally with product, marketing, and engineering teams to gather data requirements and develop data-driven solutions
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis and provide recommendations for improvement

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, economics, or computer science

At least 2 years of experience in a data analysis role, preferably in a startup environment or a fast-paced industry

Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation

Strong experience working with APIs and SQL databases for data extraction and manipulation

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets

Familiarity with statistical analysis and A / B testing methodologies

Understanding of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Mixpanel, along with tracking implementation best practices

Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with product, marketing, and engineering teams
