Junior Project Manager

Purpose of the Role

The Junior Project Manager is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of small to medium-sized projects or workstreams within larger initiatives.

This role assists in project administration, stakeholder communication, schedule tracking, and risk monitoring to ensure smooth delivery.

Working closely with the Senior Project Manager and broader project team, the Junior Project Manager helps ensure deliverables are met, issues are escalated timeously, and project documentation is maintained.

This role also contributes to process improvements and learns to apply project governance principles in a real-world delivery environment.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Project Management, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Project Management training or certification (e.g., CAPM, Agile Fundamentals) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodology preferred.
• 13 years experience in a project coordination or junior project management role.
• Exposure to IT or business systems projects preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Experience with Jira or other project tracking tools is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
