Location & Salary

Location : De Waterkant, Cape Town

Salary : – R, depending on experience

Hybrid / In‑office : Primarily in-office, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of one remote day per week depending on performance, experience and operational needs.

About the Role

The Group Accountant will take responsibility for general day‑to‑day accounting functions across several entities, supporting compliance requirements, reconciliations, disclosures, fixed asset management and statutory submissions. The role will also include mentoring junior team members and ensuring high standards of accuracy and organisation within the finance function.

Start date : A February start is ideal; however, an earlier start date would be welcomed where possible.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day accounting functions across multiple group entities
• Manage compliance requirements and prepare statutory submissions
• Handle VAT applications, calculations and reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• Support disclosures and reporting requirements
• Assist with general reconciliations and financial controls
• Provide support and guidance to junior finance staff
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness and adherence to deadlines
