Operations
Responsibilities
- Accountable for specialist outputs, as well as initiating quality standards within defined work routines and policies.
- Verify scales and incubators; execute the manufacturing start-up procedure; perform packaging analysis and inspections.
- Daily verifications of scales and incubators.
- Manufacturing Start-Up Procedure : ensure the skew bar is set at the correct height, verify barcode stickers and bottle coding for correctness and legibility; check torques on all capping heads; ensure labels conform to specification; report non-conformances to the Line Supervisor and QC Supervisor; authorize the line supervisor to proceed once start-up results have been passed.
- Packaging Analysis : test preforms; test blown bottles (height, burst pressure, sectional weight, stress cracking, fill point capacity, drop test, visual inspections, wall thickness, base weight, neck finish dimensions); test closures (height, skew cap detection, outer diameter, inner seal); inspect label application; test label glue application; perform rinse residue tests.
- Inspections : inspect date and batch code applications for legibility and accuracy; perform rinse pressure inspections; inspect barcodes for correct and legible application; maintain documentation and records; record all results; raise non-conformances to the QC Supervisor.
- Sampling : ensure correct number of samples are taken for relevant departments (QC, QA, Retention, Micro).
- Adherence to Quality, Food Safety, Health, Safety and Environmental Standards; enforce policies and standards; maintain personal hygiene; monitor contamination controls; follow incident reporting procedures for accidents.
- Knowledge and Compliance : stay updated with policies, processes, procedures and legislative requirements; enforce GMP compliance.
- Training : attend and enforce implementation of training related to Quality, Food Safety and Health and Safety.
- Housekeeping : maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the work environment.
Qualifications And Experience
NQF 5 National Diploma in Food Tech, Biotech or Analytical Chemistry (Essential)Up to 3 years experience in Operational Execution, FMCG; Bottling EquipmentBasic MS Excel, MS Word; EmailKey Qualities
