Introduction
Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of General Engineering Supervisor to be placed in Tharisa Mine. The successful candidate will report to the Site Engineer / Contracts Engineer. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to :
- Effective planning, construction and maintenance of plant and infrastructure
- Conduct equipment failure analysis
- Ensure Planned maintenance system is used to control spares and consumbles on TMM
- Monitor equipment availability, utilisation and performance
- Required to set up and manage a maintenance system on TMM
- Ensure reports is set up and shared with all stakeholders on agreed TMM KPI’s
- Ensure legal, safety and environmental procedure compliance
- Manage budget control and forecasting
- Conduct risk analyses
- Maintain asset register
- Ensure availability of drawings / technical manuals and the interpretation thereof
- Adhere to maintenance schedules
- Ensure environmental management is in place
- Adhere to technical specifications and standards
- Ensure Quality risks are identified and put in place quality plans to mitigate these risks
- Ensure subordinates are performance managed and talent is identified and developed
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills :
Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalentSection 26D or Section 13 Trade Certificate - MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade Certificate through a registered bodyContract of Apprenticeship signed off by employer and Department of ManpowerProof of formal Supervisory training in Planning, Leading, Organising and ControlMine based technical certifications (e.g. Basic Hydraulics and Basic RiggingOnsetter Certificate (Preferred)MS Office Proficient (Word, Excel & MS Projects – ability to plan & schedule)Training and understanding of Computerized mainatenance systemValid EB Driver’s LicenseValid First Aid CertificateSound verbal and written communication skills in EnglishSuitable candidates must have the following work experience :
At least 10 years practical experience in the mining industry implementation of maintenance systemsAt least 5 years’ experience in a Foreman / Planning supervisory level capacityAt least 5 years practical experience on TMM (preferred)Experience in Starting up and running of TMM maintenance systems.Experience in setting up reporting systems based on agreed KPIExperience in writing procedures from issue based risk assessmentsAll appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
