An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Product Manager to lead product strategy market positioning and business growth across diverse markets in Sub‑Saharan Africa. This role is ideal for a commercially minded professional with a background in sales and product management capable of translating market insights into winning product strategies.
As a Product Manager you will be responsible for driving market research, product lifecycle management and business case development while collaborating closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure long‑term success.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related field (Essential)
- MBA or Postgraduate qualification (Advantageous)
- 510 years total experience with at least 23 years as a Sales Manager and subsequent experience in Product Management
- Exposure to Sub‑Saharan African markets is highly advantageous
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute product strategies tailored for Sub‑Saharan marketsConduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends and regional opportunitiesFormulate and present business cases to senior stakeholders for product investment decisionsDefine and implement pricing and positioning strategies to optimise market competitivenessManage the full product lifecycle from ideation to market launch and ongoing improvementPartner with cross‑functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, R&D) to align strategies and deliver resultsProvide insights and reporting on product performance, profitability and growth opportunitiesERP & Systems Exposure
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Familiarity with CRM or ERP systems (SAP, Salesforce or similar) would be advantageousTraits & Competencies
