Dairy Farm Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

Management of Dairy Herd : Oversee the health and welfare of the dairy herd including monitoring milk production, managing feeding schedules and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Staff Supervision : Recruit, train and manage farm staff ensuring that all team members are performing their duties effectively and safely.

Operational Oversight : Plan and implement daily farm operations including milking, feeding and maintaining equipment and facilities.

Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of herd health, production and reproduction as well as financial records related to farm operations.

Budget Management : Prepare and manage the annual budget making decisions regarding resource allocation and operational expenditures.

Problem Solving : Address any issues related to herd health, equipment failure or operational challenges ensuring minimal disruption to farm productivity.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications and Skills

Education : A degree in agriculture, animal science or a related field is preferred along with relevant experience in dairy farming.

Experience : Previous experience in dairy management or a similar role is essential with a strong understanding of dairy operations and animal husbandry.

Leadership Skills, Problem‑Solving Skills, Valid drivers license, Communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
