The opportunity As a Technical Sales Engineer for Distribution Automation at Hitachi Energy, you will be responsible for promoting and selling products and automation solutions that enhance the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of power distribution networks. You will combine deep technical expertise with strong commercial skills to deliver value-driven products and solutions to utilities, industrial customers, and channel partners. This role plays a pivotal part in driving digitalization and grid modernization initiatives.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Drive sales of Hitachi Energy’s Distribution Automation portfolio, including Distribution Automation solutions, protection relays, RTUs, and communication products.
• Develop and execute account strategies to achieve sales targets and market share growth.
• Identify new business opportunities and manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, product management, and service to tailor offerings to customer needs.
• Provide technical support and solution design during pre-sales and post-sales phases.
• Understand client requirements for distribution automation and propose suitable solutions.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations tailored to customer needs.
• Collaborate with related teams to ensure compliance with customer specifications and standards (e.g., IEC 61850, DNP3).
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, industries and channel partners.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, ensuring long-term partnerships and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities.
• Represent Hitachi Energy at events, exhibitions, and seminars.
• Provide feedback to product teams on market needs and customer pain points to inform roadmap decisions.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
