Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and professional Head Guide to lead the guiding team at a luxury safari lodge. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, excellent guest engagement skills, and a deep knowledge of the natural environment to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead, mentor, and manage the guiding team to uphold high standards of guiding and guest interaction.
• Conduct guided game drives and bush walks, providing educational and memorable experiences for guests.
• Oversee the training and development of junior guides and trackers.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Assist in conservation management tasks, including monitoring wildlife, alien plant control, and fire management.
• Maintain lodge vehicles and equipment used for guiding activities.
• Collaborate with lodge management to improve guest experience continuously.

Requirements : Nature Site Guide (NQF4) qualification. Trails guiding experience and full trails qualification advantageous. Valid driver’s license and PDP. Rifle competency and experience in handling dangerous game. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Passion for conservation and environmental awareness. Previous experience in a Head Guide or Senior Guide role within a luxury lodge environment preferred.
