Accountant / Payroll Officer

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Prepare and maintain accurate and complete financial records for all expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, processing of journal entries including payroll journals, banking and cash, as well as balance sheet reconciliation.
• Post all bank and cash book transactions accurately.
• Reconcile bank accounts and manage general ledger (GL) coding appropriately.
• Invoicing to companies, project claims tracking.
• Process and manage payroll in compliance with statutory requirements.
• Accurately process employee salaries, deductions, and benefits in accordance with legal and company policies.
• Ensure timely payments and submissions to relevant statutory bodies, including PAYE, UIF, and other payroll-related compliances.
• Ensure accurate and timely VAT Submissions and other statutory returns.
• Prepare and submit VAT and other relevant tax returns to SARS in line with statutory deadlines.
• Maintain in-depth records to support all findings and ensure full compliance.
• Stock management assistance.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and policies.
• Assist in audit queries.
• Compile monthly reports.
• Handle supplier and customer queries.
• Compile monthly reconciliations.
• Oversee monthly reports for directors.
• Processing of daily, weekly, and monthly banking.
• Manage municipal accounts for property companies.
