Financial Executive

Job descriptionLead the preparation of annual budgets, medium-term plans, and rolling forecasts. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all financial planning processes. Monitor performance against targets and recommend corrective actions where necessary. Oversee timely and accurate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the the company. Ensure submission of accurate the company results into Group financial reporting frameworks, templates as well as for Board review processes. Provide detailed variance analysis and insight-driven commentary to Group CFO and RSA MD. Implement and maintain strong internal controls in line with Group policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and audit requirements. Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure timely resolution of audit findings. Identify, assess, and manage financial risks related to the the companys operations. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including liquidity and credit management. Ensure robust insurance coverage and asset protection practices. Oversee working capital, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity management. Rigorous oversight over debtors cash collection processes to ensure cash inflow risk managed. Manage banking relationships and payment process integrity. Ensure prudent investment and financing practices. Partner with operational and commercial teams to drive profitability and cost efficiency. Provide financial modelling, business case analysis, and decision support for major projects. Champion data-driven decision-making and performance improvement initiatives. Lead, mentor, and develop the the company finance team. Promote a high-performance culture, continuous learning, and operational excellence. Ensure succession planning and capability building in the finance function. Provide regular strategic and operational updates to Group CFO. Ensure alignment between the company financial operations and Group directives. upport Group-level initiatives, systems, and transformation projects. Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Professional qualification (CA or equivalent) required. Minimum 1015 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 8 years in a senior leadership role. Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance. Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders. Strategic thinking and business acumen Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities High integrity and commitment to governance Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Good planning and organising skills. Excellent MS Excel skills at advanced level Extensive knowledge of the Courier / Freight Industry. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Project Management capabilities. Strategic Leadership capabilities. Proven knowledge and experience of Budgeting and Forecasting processes Good taxation knowledge (income tax, PAYE and VAT) South African citizen with clear criminal record
This role oversees all financial activities - including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and risk management while aligning with Group-level policies and objectives. The role acts as a key business partner to the companys Executive Team and collaborates closely with the Group CFO and South Africa Managing Director to support strategic decision-making.
