Overview
Our client in the Financial Services and FinTech sector is seeking an experienced and strategic Portfolio Manager to lead and scale their Telecommunications Lending product portfolio. This is an opportunity to shape lending propositions that drive financial inclusion and commercial growth within a fast-paced, collaborative and innovation driven environment. This role reports into the ME Lending leadership (Lending function / senior management).
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end product portfolio for telco lending propositions, including existing airtime / advance style-lending solutions and new consumer lending products through their full lifecycle.
- Maximise growth of the core lending proposition while safeguarding key performance metrics such as customer ARPU accretion, loss ratios and churn.
- Use product analytics and customer performance data as a launch pad for additional lending propositions and to continuously iterate product features and risk models.
- Design, document and socialise business requirements, financial business cases and business rules; partner closely with customer experience to define and refine customer journeys and onboarding flows.
- Develop the Telco Lending marketplace proposition spanning multiple consumer segments and channels, ensuring alignment with broader payments and remittance capabilities.
- Produce accurate revenue projections and forecasts; perform regular variance analysis, identify shortfalls and implement corrective actions to protect financial targets.
- Monitor market and competitor activity; translate insights into go-to-market actions and risk mitigation strategies.
- Present product performance, strategy updates and recommendations to senior management and executive stakeholders on a monthly cadence.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with data science, credit, payments, commercial and legal / regulatory teams to accelerate time-to-market and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Experience
Minimum 8 years’ experience in consumer lending product design, development and portfolio management, with demonstrable success in unsecured / fast-moving lending environments.Proven track record of managing an existing lending product, driving growth while maintaining disciplined credit and operational performance (ARPU accretion, loss ratios, churn).Strong commercial acumen with experience building financial cases, driving revenue forecasts and delivering against KPIs.Hands-on experience with product analytics - translating data into product features, pricing and risk decisions.Experience developing marketplace or multi-segment propositions (advantageous).Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and present to executive audiences.Prior exposure to Telco or FinTech environments will be highly regarded.Educational Requirements
Relevant 3 years Business degree (essential).Relevant postgraduate qualifications or industry certifications are advantageous but not required.Why This Role
