Responsibilities

• Discuss the function with the client, ascertaining and noting their exact needs.
• Show the client the available facilities, advising on the merits of various options.
• Advise and discuss choice of menus.
• Discuss alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverage requirements.
• Discuss table plans.
• Ascertain entertainment requirements, if any.
• Ascertain table appointments such as flowers.
• Confirm availability of required facilities.
• Monitor and control provisional and confirmed function bookings and prevent double bookings.
• Confirm all details in writing to the guest.
• Be constantly aware of new business opportunities and act on them.
• Ensure cleanliness of all conference and function rooms.
• Ensure that all necessary stationery is provided.
• Ensure that all requested equipment, especially audio and sound systems, is in position and in working order.
• Ensure water jugs, glasses and refreshments are replenished at regular intervals.
• Ensure ashtrays are changed during each break.
• Ensure requested refreshments are served in a timely manner.
