Leading electrical construction specialist is recruiting for an Assistant Operations Manager, to be trained for the Operations Manager position. This is a senior Management position responsible for the full operations of a specific branch, including sales, operations and project installations.

Operational planning and managementCompleting RFQ, tenders and costing for projects
Ensuring technical compliance of designs and installations according to applicable SANS code of practiceTraining project teams to complete installations according to the relevant SANS code of practicePlanning of projects and teamsPlanning of material and site-specific materialManagement of all health and safety related requirements from clients and projects with the support of the Safety dept.Communication with existing and potential clientsAdherence to all operations procedures and processesEnsuring that all relevant controls are in place and being adhered to for :Vehicles

Reporting weekly and monthly on the sales tracking and drafting sales forecasts for management.Managing projects and teams efficiently to enable cost savings, to work smarter and faster, to improve productivity which will result in improved project profitability.Analyzing project profitability report information and completing required corrective actions.Managing the debtor portfolio for the branch including invoicing.Developing key business relationships and business developmentBuilding strong business relationships with Consulting Engineers, Electrical Engineers and other stakeholders based on the following key relationship values :

Experience & Qualifications
Min. matric with post qualifications in Project Management, Operations Management or Business Management will be beneficialMin. 8 years work experience with at least 5 years in a Management position, with responsibilities for sales growthManaging at least 5 direct reporting employeesExperience in electrical or construction industries will be beneficialElectrical engineer or contracts manager experience preferredCharacteristics
