Business Developer – South Africa
An established international organisation is seeking a dynamic Business Developer to drive growth, develop new business opportunities and support market expansion within South Africa. This role reports into the Commercial Manager : Africa and requires a motivated individual with strong commercial insight, customer relationship capability and strategic sales ability.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute strategies to expand the customer base and achieve sales targets
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking and market research
- Present product offerings, negotiate terms and successfully close deals
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with new and existing customers using a solution-based approach
- Develop trading terms and pricing strategies that drive volume and value growth
- Conduct ongoing market research to understand trends, competitors and opportunities
- Provide insights to leadership to prioritise high-impact focus areas
- Ensure focus on sustainable, profitable long-term growth
- Support local marketing initiatives
- Meet monthly and quarterly forecasting and reporting requirements, including formal business analysis and performance reviews
Requirements :
Business Degree or similar relevant qualificationMinimum 5 years’ experience in a sales / business development environmentCommercially astute with a strategic and analytical approachStrong understanding of sales cycles, customer needs and market positioningExcellent relationship-building and communication skillsStrong administrative, organisational and problem-solving abilitiesAble to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProficient in Microsoft Office with a solid understanding of IT systems and applicationsProactive, results-driven and able to work independentlyHigh attention to detail and accuracyWillingness to travel when requiredValid driver’s licence and own transportMust be fluent in EnglishBased in JohannesburgIf you meet the above requirements and are passionate about driving business growth, please submit your CV.
