Our Client in Pretoria West, is looking to hire a Senior Sales Executive (Plant Equipment) the job involves developing sales strategies, identifying and acquiring new clients for heavy machinery, building strong client relationships, and achieving sales targets through product demonstrations, presentations, and contract negotiation. This role requires strong knowledge of plant equipment and the industry, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to analyse market trends, provide market intelligence, mentor junior staff, and manage the full sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development :
Generate new leads through networking, cold calling, and partnerships, and identify new market opportunities.
Client Relationship Management :
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential clients.
Sales Execution :
Deliver persuasive product demonstrations and sales presentations to prospective and existing customers.
Sales Target Achievement :
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales revenue targets.
Contract Negotiation :
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure new business and maximize profitability.
Market Expertise :
Stay current on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies.
Reporting & Forecasting :
Prepare accurate sales reports and forecasts for senior management.
Team Leadership :
Mentor and guide junior sales team members, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.
Collaboration :
Work with marketing and product teams to align sales and marketing efforts and provide market feedback.
Key Requirements
Experience :
Proven work experience as a Senior Sales Executive, preferably with a background in heavy machinery, plant equipment, or a related industrial sales environment.
Skills :
Strong sales and negotiation skills, and very strong personality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Consultative sales approach to understand client needs and recommend solutions, and analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge :
In-depth knowledge of the plant equipment sector, products, and market trends.
Technical Proficiency :
Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant sales tools.
Education :
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is often preferred.
