Key purpose :

Our company is currently on the hunt to acquire an IT Business Analyst (Inbound). The role will be based in Westville and report to the Applications Manager.

Duties and responsibilities :

• Work with the business to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes.
• Meet with relevant Business representatives to establish, understand and document detailed Business requirements to be met by the project.
• Analyze discrepancies in services or performance and make recommendations for updates / improvements to resolve them.
• Involved in the design or modification of business systems or IT systems, assist in determining the project scope and agree on a scope definition document as well as functional & technical specification document, ensuring that full sign off is achieved prior to implementation.
• Solve business problems and design technical solutions.
• Document business processes and represent them in flow diagrams.
• Facilitate the implementation of identified solutions utilizing recognized project management methodologies.
• Ensure that all tests are conducted and documented according to the standards agreed upon by the business unit and IT.
• Responsible for ensuring that all documentation accurately reflects the status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions.
• Ensure that IT programs / initiatives are consistently implemented and managed from an ITGC, TCO & Sustainability perspective.
• Manage specific application quality assurance and help desk activities including the tracking of bug reports and change requests and ensuring their timely resolution.
• Ensure that all items follow the change management process and are entered and tracked through the change management software.
• Responsible for the overall success of testing, including results verification and acquiring the relevant release sign-off.
• Establish the purpose and deliverables of the test effort.
• Ensure continuing operational quality by documenting bug fixes and enhancements.
• Participate in the design or modification of business systems or IT systems, assisting in determining the project scope.
• Interact with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their problems and needs.
• Document the functional and verify the technical design of the system in conjunction with a developer or system specialist.
• Sustain the knowledge management content of the business by integrating daily support and project activities to keep documentation consistent and up to date.
• Understand / define and supply solutions to mitigate process or system-based gaps.
• Implement business enhancements as per business projects function.
• Assist in improving and streamlining business processes and preparing business process documentation.
• Support the Applications Manager in identifying IT application solutions to address key business requirements within the functional area.
• Work with the Functional Managers to assess current IT capabilities and identify high-level customer delivery timetables.
• Conduct regular system compliance audits and health checks.
• Report on system non-compliance by users to the Applications Manager.
• Identify and highlight business risks to the Applications Manager as a result of non-compliance and recommend compensating controls.
• Work closely with the Data Insights team to ensure data flow from all ERP systems to data warehousing and BI platforms are correct and validated.
