About the role
This role supports the growth and sustainability of the organisation's services by identifying new business opportunities, managing tenders, maintaining strong client relationships, and providing essential administrative andreporting support to ensure smooth departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Business Development & Client Relations
- Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities in line with company objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Prepare and deliver company profiles, proposals, and capability statements.
- Attend industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions to promote company services.
- Support the preparation of business growth strategies and marketing plans.
2. Tender Management
Monitor tender portals and procurement platforms for relevant opportunities.Coordinate the compilation, preparation, and submission of tender and bid documents.Ensure all required documentation, certifications, and compliance forms are current and included.Liaise with internal teams for technical inputs, pricing, and supporting documents.Maintain a register of all submitted tenders, deadlines, and outcomes.3. Administrative Support
Assist with departmental administration including filing, correspondence, and record keeping.Maintain and update client databases, project trackers, and contact lists.Handle quotation requests, supplier forms, and purchase order documentation as required.Schedule meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on action items.Provide general support to management in coordinating business-related activities.4. Reporting & Coordination
Prepare regular reports on business development activities, leads, and tender outcomes.Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking for business development initiatives.Coordinate with the finance and operations teams to ensure contract compliance and smooth project handovers.Minimum Requirements :
South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.Must not have participated on the YES programme before.Matric Certificate (with results).Diploma or Degree in a Science-related field.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organisational and administrative abilities.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and tender submission portals.Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.Ability to work in the field and in varying environmental conditions.Excellent report writing, data analysis, and communication skills.Please consider your application unsuccessful when you have not heard from the Signa Opportunity team within two weeks of submitting your application.
