Position Overview : The IT Administrator will oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure. This role is responsible for managing both on-premises and cloud-based systems while ensuring high availability and security of business applications. The Senior System Administrator will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior administrators, and lead infrastructure improvement projects. The Sys Admin will work with service providers in resolving calls within the required timeframe.
Key Responsibilities :
- System Administration : Manage and maintain Windows, Active Directory, Linux, and virtual servers (Hyper-V), ensuring systems run smoothly with optimal performance.
- Network Management : Configure and monitor firewalls, VPNs, and network infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient data communication.
- Cloud Infrastructure : Oversee the operation of cloud services (Azure), implementing best practices for cloud architecture.
- Security Management : Implement security protocols and patches to ensure compliance with industry standards, responding proactively to emerging vulnerabilities.
- Backup & Recovery : Manage data backups, disaster recovery plans, and ensure data integrity through routine testing and verification.
- Monitoring & Performance Tuning : Use monitoring tools (e.g., Data Dog) to track system performance and resolve issues before they impact business operations.
- Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Mentorship & Training : Mentor junior system administrators, providing guidance and knowledge transfer to improve team performance and efficiency.
- Project Management : Lead infrastructure upgrade projects, system migrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Compliance : Ensure all systems are compliant with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices (e.g., NIST & ISO).
- Troubleshooting : Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for complex issues, working closely with the IT support team and other departments.
- Perform penetration tests and vulnerability assessments.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam Backup and Replication).
- Manage Zimbra Email and Collaboration tools.
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory Domain Controllers.
- Manage Hyper-V Virtualization environment.
- Maintain Anti-Virus System (KASPERSKY).
- Perform website editing and updates.
- Manage server racks and hardware.
- Handle licensing and software compliance.
- Manage Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks.
- Oversee cabling and physical infrastructure.
- Work with Ubiquiti products (Unifi, AirMax) and Mikrotik devices.
- Support VPN access and support.
- Manage VOIP systems.
- Support CCTV and Audio Visual systems.
- Support virtual platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
- Utilize GLPI Helpdesk system.
- Manage Squid Proxy Server, Fusion Inventory, AD Audit Plus, and Microsoft Teams integrations.
Qualifications : IT Diploma or Bachelor's Degree, MCSE or equivalent, CCNA, N+, A+ certifications. At least 5+ years of experience in system administration, network infrastructure, server management, wireless networks, and cloud services.
Technical Competencies : Proficiency in Windows server environments, virtualization (Hyper-V), cloud platforms (Azure), networking (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, firewalls), scripting (PowerShell, Bash), and IT security standards.
Soft Skills : Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
