Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the finance function across 11 companies , including full accounting to Annual Financial Statements.
- Lead the annual external audit process for all group entities.
- Manage and review monthly management accounts , journals, cashbooks, and general ledgers.
- Oversee group payroll , ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage company cashflows , business analytics, and financial planning.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and reporting to regulators ( NCR, FSCA, FIC ).
- Oversee SARS compliance including Income Tax, Provisional Tax, VAT, and DWT returns.
- Manage CIPC compliance including annual returns, beneficial ownership submissions, and registered changes.
- Liaise with commercial banks on funding, covenants, and FICA reviews.
- Collaborate with HR on BEE certification and Stats SA submissions.
- Oversee collections, loan disbursements, insurance reporting , and related operational finance processes.
- Approve fund requests, refunds, and staff loans .
- Ensure accuracy of loan management system reporting and branch financial support.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a finance team of 17 employees , including performance reviews, training, and leave planning.
- Provide financial insight and support for special projects and ad hoc internal or external requests.
Requirements
Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification.BCom Honours or equivalent degree / diploma.Minimum of 5 years post-articles experience in a group finance or similar environment.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook).Experience with Sage Intacct Accounting and Pastel Payroll & HR 2024 .Strong experience in group consolidations and multi-entity reporting.Solid understanding of the National Credit Act and Financial and Intermediary Services Act .Sound knowledge of relevant legislation ( Companies Act, Income Tax Act, VAT Act ).Proven ability to lead and develop teams effectively.Strong business acumen, analytical ability, and attention to detail.Excellent organisational and planning skills.Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines.For more exciting (Finance / Engineering / IT / Supply Chain / Commercial & C-Suite) vacancies, please visit :
