Overview
The Audit Manager will be responsible for leading and managing audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring high-quality delivery in line with professional standards. The role requires effective leadership of audit teams, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the overall development of the audit function within the firm.
Qualifications
- Tertiary Qualification in Accounting
- Registered Chartered Accountant CA(SA)
- Private and Public sector audit experience
- Minimum 5–7 years audit experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory / management role
- Proven track record of managing audits across multiple industries and clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
Lead the planning, scoping, and risk assessment for audits in line with firm methodologies.Manage the execution of audit engagements, ensuring compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA), firm policies, and regulatory requirements.Review working papers and audit evidence prepared by the team for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.Oversee the preparation of high-quality audit reports and management letters.Supervise and mentor Seniors, and Trainees on audit engagements.Allocate work and resources effectively, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.Provide coaching, feedback, and on-the-job training to develop staff capabilities.Conduct performance evaluations and contribute to talent development initiatives.Act as the key point of contact for clients during engagements, addressing queries and resolving issues promptly.Build and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating commercial awareness and adding value beyond the audit process.Identify opportunities for cross-selling additional services.Ensure audits are delivered in line with quality standards, risk management policies, and ethical requirements.Monitor engagement budgets and profitability, taking corrective action where needed.Keep up to date with changes in accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards.Assist Partners in business development activities, including proposal preparation, pitches, and networking.Support firm-wide initiatives to improve efficiency, processes, and audit quality.Contribute to thought leadership and training sessions within the audit practice.Delegate responsibilities to more junior staff members within the structure as and when required.Key Knowledge Areas and Competencies

Salary range : R to R basic salary per annum. No additional benefits (medical aid and retirement fund) available.
