Head of Audience Growth - For a Leading B2B AI Media Publication

This role is designed to “steer the ship” of audience engagement and editorial strategy for an executive audience already at 1,000,000 listeners and readers per year. It is a full‑time remote position.

- We host The AI in Business Podcast , the most popular B2B AI podcast on iTunes with over 7,000,000 downloads, and multiple other industry‑specific B2B AI podcasts.
- We publish to a global executive audience on Emerj.com and offer lead generation, custom research, and sponsored content services (generally from $16k‑$100k+) to cutting‑edge AI startups and large AI vendors.
- Our team has grown from 7 to over 30 people in just two years.
Key Responsibilities
Core Outcomes :Increase inbound leads to support our goal of $1MM in inbound revenue in 2026, $2.5MM in 2027, and $4‑5MM in 2028.
Ensure effective calls‑to‑action (CTAs) embedded across podcasts, website, newsletters, social, and video channels.Rigorous use of email marketing and automation to nurture subscribers and convert engaged audiences into customers.Consistent testing across all channels to optimise performance.Determine content types and cadences that attract the right audiences.Achieve significant growth in email list, LinkedIn following and engagement, podcast listenership, and YouTube (and other video) viewership.Performance Measurement : Total Digital and Content expenses divided by inbound revenue secured; target 4‑5x higher contract value than Digital / Content costs in 2026.Regular Tasks :Examine content performance (social posts, podcasts, articles, etc.) and adjust projects to move closer to goals.
Oversee landing‑page split‑testing and optimisation.Directly manage the efficiency and deliverables of the editorial team (content, promotion, graphics) and the digital team (software, website).Report directly to the CEO. The editorial leadership team and digital lead will report to this role.Key Qualifications
Required :Managed content calendars and output across text, video, and other formats.
Managed web developers and engineers responsible for website, email systems, and related software.Direct previous responsibility for, and evidence of, growing audience and engagement.Direct previous responsibility for increasing lead flow and direct revenue from digital / content efforts.5–10 years of direct experience in audience growth and conversion.Preferred :Experience in a B2B media company (e.g., Informa, Endeavor Business Media, Penton, RELX).
Genuine interest in cutting‑edge AI technology and a desire to learn and grow at the frontier.Tools
